It can be, but only if you click this link and sign up for monthly contributions.

Can I use this as a tax write-off?

All contributions to501(c)3s are allowable by law. An item from a registry list like Amazon is probably considered a donation of goods, but if it is brand new the market value is would probably be the purchase price. It would be itemized under donated goods on a tax return.
