I started as a participant in 2013 with two children at 20 years old. As a participant, I learned how to become a better parent through parenting classes and support services. I earned my HSE and got my first apartment with the help of the Alex House Project. I quickly became a parent educator as I saw myself in my peer. I enjoyed facilitating groups, mentoring other young mothers, and being part of a support system for young families. In 2022, I became the program manager a true example of how the Alex House Project provides leadership development in a safe and nurturing environment. I can truly say that the Alex House Project is my second family. They provided the resources and pushed for my development. I can’t believe the growth I got from the Alex House Project! I will continue to do the work.
