Young parents are leading the way at The Alex House Project

When Maria first walked into The Alex House Project, she was carrying more than just her newborn. She was carrying doubt, exhaustion, and the feeling that her options were limited.
Today, she mentors other young mothers.
Her story is not unique. It reflects what happens when young parents are given the right support at the right time. At The Alex House Project, the goal is simple. Meet young parents where they are, and help them move forward. That might start with parenting education, but it doesn’t stop there. It grows into job training, leadership development, and long-term stability.
Programs like Healthy Mommy, Healthy Babies and Parenting Journey give parents the tools to care for their children with confidence. But just as important, they create space for connection. Parents learn they are not alone.
From there, many continue into workforce training. They build resumes, practice interviews, and gain real experience. They begin to see new possibilities for themselves and their families.
For some, the journey leads even further. The Peer Leadership Fellowship turns participants into mentors and educators. They step into leadership roles and help others navigate the same path.
The transformation is not accidental. It happens because someone listened, someone invested, and someone believed.
And that belief changes everything.
