Turning experience into leadership

At The Alex House Project, leadership is not reserved for a select few. It is something that is built, step by step.
The Peer Leadership Fellowship is where that transformation happens.
This 18 to 24 month program takes young parents who have completed earlier programs and helps them step into new roles as mentors and educators.
Participants are trained, supported, and paid as they grow into leadership positions. They work alongside professionals, develop facilitation skills, and learn how to guide others through similar challenges.
What makes this program unique is its foundation. It values lived experience.
Participants are not seen as recipients of services. They are seen as leaders in the making. Their stories, insights, and resilience become tools to help others.
This creates a powerful cycle. Parents who once received support now provide it.
They lead workshops. They speak at events. They become role models in their communities.
Leadership, in this context, is not about titles. It is about impact.
And that impact continues to grow with every new cohort.
